Ole outlines plans for goalscorer Pellistri
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Facundo Pellistri is set to head out on loan to continue his development this season.
The 19-year-old winger from Uruguay scored in the Reds' 2-1 pre-season victory over Derby County at Pride Park during an impressive second-half performance as a substitute.
Speaking after the match, the boss said there had been plenty of suitors for the youngster, who returned to United this summer following a loan spell with Deportivo Alavés.
“I can see a loan deal for him," Solskjaer said.
"There’s been loads of interest and for his best interests as well, I think a loan will be what we look for.”
Asked about Pellistri’s individual performance against the Rams, he said: “I thought he was bright, of course he takes his goal really well. First touch, good pass from Shola, but great first touch sets him up.
“I think he shows what he is, he’s a difficult player to play against. One against one he can go up past people and I’m very pleased with him.”
Watch Pellistri's goal
Facundo Pellistri starred in United's pre-season campaign, scoring this goal against Derby in July...
Pellistri excited fans with his unpredictability. He's got a fantastic ability to drift one way and the other, moving in and out of players and his goal showed a knack for moving off the shoulder of the defenders and finding space.
The teenager will stick around at United for a while yet - with the next pre-season game against QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday - but behind the scenes, United's coaching staff will be trying to find the perfect destination for Pellistri.
