A week until our Premier League opener v Arsenal

Sunday 10 August 2025 17:00

We are now just one week away from our Premier League opening game against Arsenal.

Ruben Amorim's men have just brought our pre-season preparations to an end with a win on penalties against Fiorentina in the Snapdragon Cup at Old Trafford, and are now staring down the start of the competitive campaign.

We're set to get the new term under way back at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday 17 August, with the Gunners visiting M16 to provide the opposition for the 16:30 BST kick-off.

General admission tickets for the meeting are now sold out, but we'll have plenty of exclusive content available for you before and after the game on MUTV, in the United App and on ManUtd.com, with live commentary available across those platforms during 90 minutes, so you don't need to miss a second of the action!

As the newest man through the door, all eyes will be on Benjamin Sesko and whether he'll be ready to make his United debut, his transfer from RB Leipzig having only been announced just over a week prior to the referee's first whistle.

Arsenal's visit may also provide competitive debuts for fellow new signings Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, the trio having already had a taste of United life in pre-season.

The new quartet will hope to mirror the impact of Joshua Zirkzee this time last year, who netted a late winner in his first competitive outing for the Reds, our season opener against Fulham, sealing a narrow 1-0 win.

Our last two meetings with the Gunners have been hard-fought affairs, with January's Emirates FA Cup tie at the Emirates going all the way to penalties thanks to Altay Bayindir's heroics in normal time and in the subsequent shootout, before recording another 1-1 back at Old Trafford in the Premier League in March via efforts from Bruno Fernandes and Declan Rice.

Stay tuned across our official platforms throughout the week to be the first to hear Amorim's thoughts, team news, and much more, as we look to kick off the season in the best way possible.
