Carrick's Dorgu injury update

Friday 30 January 2026 13:30

Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu faces a spell on the sidelines, after suffering an injury in Manchester United's 3-2 win at Arsenal.

The Denmark international scored our second goal in a fabulous performance at the Emirates Stadium, with a thumping long-range strike, and was voted Man of the Match by our supporters.

However, he was forced to be substituted in the 81st minute, with Benjamin Sesko coming on to take his place.

Team news for United v Fulham

There is a positive update about a squad member returning to training at Carrington this week.

Speaking at a press conference to preview our Premier League home game with Fulham, head coach Michael Carrick was asked to confirm reports that the 21-year-old will be out for a number of weeks.

"Pat, unfortunately, he's going to be out for a period of time," he said. "We're still working through how long that's going to be.

"We'll have to see, [it's] disappointing, he's had such a big couple of weeks, Pat. We weren't sure whether it was a little bit of cramp or whether it was something a little bit more serious and at the moment it looks a little bit more on the serious note.

"So, it'll be a few weeks for that. How many weeks? We'll have to wait and see. So, that's disappointing for all of us really, and for Pat, he's in such a good place, but unfortunately it is part of football and it's something we've got to work through and get him back as soon as we can.”

The only game Dorgu has not appeared in this season was the 3-2 home victory over Burnley in August, when he was an unused substitute.

He will be absent for United's clash with the Cottagers, which kicks off on Sunday at 14:00 GMT, as the Reds are aiming for a third win in succession, following the superb displays against Manchester City and Arsenal.
