Patrick Dorgu has conducted his first interview as a Manchester United player.

Speaking to club media, the new arrival from Lecce was asked about the switch to Old Trafford, his attributes and why he has been allocated the no.13 within the squad.

The versatile wing-back also believes he has the mentality required to deal with the pressure and expectation that comes with playing for the Reds and, at 20, is hoping he can realise his potential in England.

SIGNING INTERVIEW | Get to know Patrick Dorgu, our new signing from Lecce who is eager to make a big impression in red…

"It feels amazing to be part of the family," he told club media's Zarah Connolly. "I'm very excited to get going.

"I have heard about the incredible support and I'm happy to be one of the players of United now.

"It's a huge club. It's the biggest club in England and I'm really looking forward to working with the new manager [Ruben Amorim] and I feel the system suits me really well. So I'm excited to be here."

Dorgu feels he has much to give at United, as the Denmark international looks to make his mark in the Premier League.

"I think I'm going to bring a lot of intensity and physique on the pitch," he said. "And a lot of energy and run[ning]."

Furthermore, he is convinced his steely mindset can help him succeed for Amorim's men.

"For me, it's the most important thing because there's a lot of talk about and around football," the defender added. "And you really need to be strong outside of football as well.

"And, when I've been in Italy, I've lived alone. Of course, my family is visiting me a lot, but you need to be really good mentally to stay focused and being concentrated on football."

When asked about his choice of the no.13 shirt, he replied: "I had it since I came to Lecce. I think it's good to keep going with what's going good so I think, yeah, no.13 is working really good for me at the moment."

In the short and long term, Dorgu is determined to settle quickly into life at United, with the Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie against Leicester City coming up on Friday and a trip to Tottenham representing our next Premier League assignment.

"We're still in a lot of cup competitions so, of course, to win the cup games," he said of his aims. "And, of course, to win as many Premier League games as possible.

"My ambition is just to play a lot of games to be a great part of the United family and just to keep pushing and improve my potential."
