Phallon's three positive mental health tips
World Mental Health Day | Our inspiring goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce gives three tips for positive mental health...
ONE: LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
“I know we all want to work hard and we take pride in being [hard-working] Manchester bees, but sometimes bees need a rest too! If you see them in the morning, their wings won’t work right away, they’re taking a nap on some flowers!”
TWO: TAKE SOME TIME OUTSIDE
“Again with the bees, take some time outside. I think often when I’m having a tough day, I’ll just get myself up and put my shoes on, take a walk by the canal or something like that.”
It's vital we talk about mental health
On World Mental Health day - 10 October - we invite you to watch these powerful moments from our UTD Podcast series...
THREE: LEAN ON YOUR SUPPORT SYSTEM
“Anybody that you have in your life that maybe could be a support system, don’t be afraid to lean on. I know my mom, my partner, those are the people for me, and even my friends along the way, have really helped support me in upholding a pretty stressful position.”
Phallon’s final message in her video on World Mental Health Day was this:
“Anybody out there [watching], you’re doing amazing already as it is!”
