David De Gea capped off a landmark seven days by equalling a long-held Manchester United record as the Reds battled to a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace.

The Spaniard, who became United’s leading overseas appearance-maker and passed 400 matches for the club in our last two matches, has now drawn level with goalkeeping great Peter Schmeichel in terms of Premier League clean sheets.

DE GEA MATCHES SCHMEICHEL

De Gea kept his 112th Premier League clean sheet in his 311th league appearance for the club, equalling Schmeichel’s mark set back in 1999. The Great Dane recorded his milestone in 59 fewer matches, but tonight’s game was a great way for De Gea to achieve the feat, with David responsible for superb saves from Luka Milivojevic and Jordan Ayew to keep United ahead in the game.

REDS KEEP ON ROLLING

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have now gone 19 games unbeaten in all competitions since losing to Burnley in January. That’s the club’s best run since November 2010, when a 4-0 defeat to West Ham in the League Cup brought to an end a run of 29 games without the Reds losing.

TIM MAKES HIS RETURN

Tim Fosu-Mensah made his first United appearance since May 2017 – three years and 56 days ago. Only Paul Pogba (four years and 154 days) and Will Keane (four years and 44 days) have ever had a longer gap between games for the Reds in the Premier League.

RED-HOT RASHFORD

Marcus Rashford has scored 17 goals in 29 league games this season, as many goals as he managed in the previous two campaigns (68 total appearances) combined.

MARCUS + ANTHONY = GOALS

Rashford and Anthony Martial have now assisted each other a combined seven times in the Premier League this season, the most by any United pair in the history of the competition. See all seven assists in our video below...
