Premier League confirms dates for next season

Tuesday 08 November 2022 14:01

The Premier League has announced its schedule for the 2023/24 season.

After a couple of campaigns disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and then the 2022/23 term having to accommodate the Qatar World Cup, the calendar returns to normal.

The season begins on Saturday 12 August 2023 and runs until Sunday 19 May 2024 when, as usual for match day 38, all the games will be played concurrently.

For the first time since the 2019/20 season, the winter break returns, with no Premier League fixtures being scheduled between 13 and 20 January 2024.

The season will consist of 34 weekends, three midweek rounds and one Bank Holiday match round.

Players will have 76 clear days to prepare for the 2023/24 campaign, as the current season concludes on Sunday 28 May - the second-latest finish there has been in the Premier League era, after the Covid-delayed year in 2020.

The 2023 Europa League final is scheduled for 31 May, while the Emirates FA Cup and Champions League finals will take place in June.
