Sesko nominated for Player of the Month
Benjamin Sesko is in contention to win the Premier League's Player of the Month award for February.
The Slovenian enjoyed a stellar month in front of goal, coming off the bench to score three times, in the games against Fulham, West Ham United and Everton.
He's already won the club award, seeing off competition from Senne Lammens and Harry Maguire.
His trio of strikes were all vitally important to Michael Carrick's Reds, starting with the roof-raising effort versus the Cottagers.
Marco Silva's men had pegged us back, from a two-goal lead, only for Sesko to find the top corner in the dying seconds.
He didn't score in the following game, a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, but was on the spot to net another vital late goal when we travelled to West Ham United.
The angle seemed impossible for our no.30 when Bryan Mbeumo crossed the ball in, but Sesko somehow steered beyond Mads Hermansen, to keep Carrick's unbeaten run going.
An impressive month for Sesko closed out with another game decider, at Everton, as he raced past James Tarkowski before burying another Mbeumo assist.
You can vote for Benjamin here.
He's competing against the following five players...
- Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal)
- Nico O'Reilly (Manchester City)
- Dango Ouattara (Brentford)
- Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City)
- Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
The polls close on Monday, so be sure to make your choice by then!
