How did Mbeumo perform in Atlanta? Read Ruben's take
Ruben Amorim has spoken positively about Bryan Mbeumo following the new signing’s first appearance as a Manchester United player.
With fellow new recruit Matheus Cunha leading the line up front, supporters were excited to see what the trio could do and it’s fair to say Mbeumo displayed glimpses of his quality.
The Cameroon international showed off his impressive pace and power in the forward areas, and tested Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on two occasions.
Ruben: Tour was perfect for us
Amorim shares his assessment of our final Stateside outing, Mbeumo's first minutes and the Tour as a whole...
While Amorim says the no.19 needs time to build his physicality and develop relationships with new team-mates, the boss is enthusiastic about his potential.
"I think he played well,” explained Amorim in our post-match interview.
“You can feel the physicality of Bryan is not perfect, that is normal, but the first touch, the way he turns and connects to the other guys, the runs that he made, it is really important.
“And he is going to be really important to our team.”
Berrada: All of the signs are positive

Ruben stated United's performance against Everton was not as strong as those produced in the wins over West Ham and Bournemouth.
He believes that is a timely reminder there is still a lot of work to do before the competitive season begins with that highly anticipated Premier League opener against Arsenal.
Nevertheless, there were positives to take from Atlanta and those include Mason Mount, who scored a lovely goal as a second-half substitute.
“He does everything 100 per cent. Every training and every game, he is always the same player. The only thing for you to maintain the consistency is that you have to work, and he works a lot.”
