Amorim's training update before Wolves
Ruben Amorim has issued an update on his Manchester United squad, in advance of the home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Reds boss has suggested Mason Mount missed training, after being withdrawn at half-time of the 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
Speaking to Sky Sports, ahead of the 20:15 GMT kick-off at Old Trafford, our head coach made it clear that the list of absentees has not dented confidence, as we take on the Premier League's bottom side for the second time in just over three weeks.
Following a 4-1 win at Molineux, United will be hoping to end 2025 with another three points.
Press conference: United v Wolves
PRESS CONFERENCE | Ruben is asked about injuries, transfers, formations and ending the year against Wolves…
"You feel that, you look to the training, Bruno [Fernandes] is not there and they feel that Amad is not there," said Amorim. "Mason Mount is not there, Kobbie [Mainoo] is not there, Bryan [Mbeumo] is not there, Nous [Mazraoui] is not there, and they still have the feeling that we can win. That is massive for everyone.
"So they feel more confident, and I felt, especially in these two last days, they were really focused, they were not thinking about the win in the last game, but they were really confident, they were working but having fun, that is the feeling, that they are confident that we can win, and that was massive for us."
Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt have also been unavailable of late, due to injury.
Wolves, meanwhile, have lost the services of Andre, due to suspension, after he was booked in the 2-1 loss at Liverpool.
Yerson Mosquera and Santiago Bueno are bidding to shake off knocks, with Jean Ricner-Bellegarde, Marshall Munetsi and Rodrigo Gomes definitely out.
Emmanuel Agbadou and Tawanda Chirewa are, like Mazraoui, Amad and Mbeumo, in Morocco, participating at the Africa Cup of Nations.
