Ruben Amorim believes Manchester United look a different side to last season, as he is pleased with the work being undertaken by his players.

The Reds saw off Bournemouth 4-1 at Soldier Field to move into a commanding position in the Premier League Summer Series, with the Everton game to come on Sunday night - live on MUTV for all subscribers, except those based in the US.

Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring with a deft header and the boss has been delighted with the Denmark international's output and application.

During his post-match press conference, Ruben was asked about the latest bout of transfer speculation, relating to bringing in another striker, but he was keen to point out how satisfied he is at the moment.

While acknowledging this is only pre-season, our head coach is really happy with our three signings so far - Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbuemo. Only Leon of this trio played against the Cherries, coming on as a substitute to play a part in Ethan Williams's strike, but the boss knows what sort of impact they will have once the Premier League is up and running again next month.

"It's just pre-season, but the feeling with the same players, if I look at the same players now playing, it looks like a different team," explained Amorim. "And that is a good sign.

"The important thing is that Rasmus is scoring goals, connecting really well with the team and improving.

"I don't know what is going to happen until the [transfer] market is closed.

"I'm really happy with the players I had last season," he added. "They are improving. We looked like a different team today. Let's continue with that.

"I'm really happy with Bryan, Matheus, even Diego. You can see it, he is a smart guy. For a guy that came from Paraguay, to come to the Premier League, he's really powerful.

"So I'm really happy with these three guys."

There could be a first chance to see Mbeumo playing for the Reds in Sunday night's contest against Everton, which kicks off at 22:00 BST, in Atalanta.
