Ruben pleased with Sesko's output
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim said he has no doubt his side will soon start to score goals after another afternoon of near misses.
Amorim was encouraged by the performance at Fulham until we took the lead in the 58th minute, but registered his frustration at the way his players approached the remainder of the contest.
The boss admitted United were so desperate to win at Craven Cottage, that they stopped trying to attack, eventually coming undone when Emile Smith Rowe converted Alex Iwobi’s deep cross to hand Fulham a share of the spoils.
But Amorim took positives from the Reds’ first Premier League point of the new campaign, maintaining United will score goals this season and stressed that his side have the attacking qualities to beat anyone.

PRESS CONFERENCE | Ruben was asked about scoring goals, midfield options and Benjamin Sesko in his media briefing...
Ruben, what are your thoughts following the game?
“It was a tough match. I think when we scored our goal, we forget about maintaining the way we should play. We were just thinking about maintaining the result.
“We wanted to win so badly that we forget about maintaining possession, trying to push the opponent. We just gave a little bit of the game to Fulham. We started really well, and until the goal we played really well.
“After the goal, I think we were just thinking about maintaining the advantage. We cannot do that.”

You prioritised this summer the attacking part of your team. Producing goals has not been easy so far - are you concerned that the problem of not scoring last year is still there?
“No, forget about last season. I think the feeling is there. When we were playing the game, we scored a goal - I didn't feel that the team was more confident now to face the game. We were more concerned about now we are winning, we need to hold on to the result.
“We are going to score goals, because we are creating so many chances - and that is the most important thing.”

ArticleThe Reds leave Craven Cottage frustrated, despite registering a first Premier League point of the season.
It is another game where Kobbie Mainoo has remained on the bench. You said before he needs to increase the rhythm and the pace of his game. Is that why he has not had minutes yet?
“No, he is fighting for the position now with Bruno (Fernandes). And I changed two midfielders. I like Mason Mount there because we want to score a goal. And then when I change it, I felt that the team needed to return to one holding midfielder.
“So he just needs to fight for the position with Bruno in training. Like it should be at Manchester United.”

Have the players had to adjust to a new way of playing, without Rasmus Hojlund?
“No, I think it's a normal thing when you reach this level. [Matheus] Cunha can play the role. He played as a striker or as a 10 at the former club. I think I felt that during these last games with Mason Mount, sometimes we are more robust in the way we play.
“So we are going to change accordingly, depending on the opponent to try to win games.”

INTERVIEW | Ruben Amorim speaks to MUTV's Ben Ibson after our draw at Craven Cottage...
We have seen two cameos from Benjamin Sesko. What do you make of his performances so far?
“I think he needs time. It's not easy sometimes when you are on the bench and you get into the game and the game is really fast. I think he is understanding that the game is faster than the Bundesliga.
“But he's fighting. He had some good connections with his team-mates. I felt that when he was on the pitch, he wasn’t on in our best moment.
“That can change the way you see a player. I am very happy as you can see his effort. We need to help him, we need to be in a better moment to help him.”
