Ruben's view on a point at Leeds

Ruben Amorim felt his Manchester United side did more than enough to earn a victory against Leeds United, despite being held to a point at Elland Road.

Matheus Cunha's neat finished cancelled out Brenden Aaronson's opener in West Yorkshire, with both goals coming within a frantic three-minute period.

Benjamin Sesko went close to winning the game, as well as Cunha when he hit the post, with Senne Lammens also called into action to keep the scores level.

The 40-year-old spoke to various media outlets, including TNT Sports and BBC Sport, as well as in his post-match press conference, with his words available below...

The Reds manage a point in Sunday's contest at Elland Road, with Matheus Cunha scoring the equaliser.

VERDICT ON THE DISPLAY

"I think we played well. I think we had more control in this game than we showed against Wolves, that is also important when you prepare [for] the next week, you can run with a different message than we showed in the last game. I think we controlled Leeds quite well, a team that is really strong on set-pieces and with second balls, they are really quick in front and I think we controlled it well. We had our opportunities to win the game, of course, but we are losing games in the details. With the goal of Leeds, we are controlling the game and in one kick with the ball in transition. But we managed to get back into the game, last year it would be completely different. This year we are in control of the games more often than last year, so [it] was a good game, but of course, a little bit frustrated for us not to win."

DEFENSIVE MOMENTS

"If you look at either Ayden [Heaven] or Leny [Yoro], they are really young. Also [the goal] was not because of that. If you play so well during 90 minutes, you have mistakes that can happen with Ayden or with Harry Maguire, who is really experienced. These things are going to happen. If you look at the game, we have chances to score the second one to win the game and then nobody will be talking about the goal of Leeds."

CUNHA STEPPING UP

"Yeah, it is not just him, I think Josh [Zirkzee], played well. The 20 minutes that he played, he connected really well with Ben [Sesko] again today. I think [Manuel] Ugarte is playing better. Ugarte is showing that he has more to give and I'm really pleased for Ugarte. So if these guys play well, we have always the chance to win the game."

HOJLUND OR SESKO

"It’s the characteristics of the player. Ben is completely different from Rasmus. Rasmus had his moment here. We move on, we bring in Sesko and try to get Sesko to score goals. Ben improved in the connection today, Josh in the 20 minutes he was playing he was active, creating chances and creating spaces for us, so it’s important. Also Manu played better today, he helped the team also to create chances, so it was better than last week."

WHAT MUST CHANGE IN ATTACK

"No, I think you can tell me that [Sesko needs better service] in a different game, but not today. We need to have possession, especially in this kind of environment. If we are losing the ball all the time, if we are trying to be the team that we were in the past with a lot of transitions all the time… We don’t want to be like that. We want to prepare better the way we play. We played better compared to last week and we were talking two seconds ago about the chances Ben had. So we are creating chances for Ben, he just needs to score one and then all the weight is going to… It’s going to be easier for Ben. We are creating chances for the strikers."
