Ruben: Spirited win at Anfield is for our fans
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim says Sunday's "special" win away to Premier League champions Liverpool should be all about our fans and the spirit of his team.
United stunned the Anfield crowd into silence after taking a second-minute lead through Bryan Mbeumo and, after Cody Gakpo had levelled late on for Liverpool, rallied to take all three points through Harry Maguire's 84th-minute winner.
It's a result that Amorim has admitted is the "biggest win" of his time in Manchester, but the boss preferred to put the focus on the togetherness of his players and the support of our chuffed away end, while conducting his post-match media duties.
Scroll down for a round-up of what he had to say to MUTV, Sky Sports and in his post-match press conference...
Amorim: This was a very special win
INTERVIEW | "This win is all about our fans and the spirit of the team," a delighted Ruben tells MUTV…
A VERY SPECIAL WIN
"Every day is special [as United boss] but this was a very special win. To see our fans singing during the game, in a moment that the biggest rival are champions, on their field and at their stadium, this win is all about our fans and the spirit of the team because I believe we can play so much better. We will analyse the game in the same way we analyse the other ones, try to see the good things and bad things. But, for me, the togetherness they [the players] showed during this game, that is special for me."
GOT SHARE OF LUCK
"Sometimes the luck is so important in football. We had some games that we are playing well in and we suffer a goal, today we start with a goal [inside two minutes]. I think twice [Cody] Gakpo shot on the post. Sometimes we just need some moments to change the narrative of one game. That is important for us and our players to understand, but they did a great job."
MAGUIRE IS GREAT EXAMPLE
"Harry Maguire is really important for us, he was really important for us today, he is a great example on that. Everything that he has been through. It's a good example for every kid. And now he has to recover to be ready for Brighton."
EXPERIENCE, SET-PIECES AND SPIRIT IMPORTANT
"We just saw the game and knew how important our set pieces are and the guys that have more experiences are on [the pitch] in the beginning. Every time we play in this environment, if you block well in the beginning, you can feel the defence turning and we feel that in our stadium and all the big teams feel that. We fought for every ball, we lost our composure in the second half but the spirit was there and that is the most important thing, if you have the spirit you can win any game."
AMAD DOING SO WELL AT WING-BACK
"Amad is doing so well in that position. He's perfect for that position. He was upset today when I made a sub, but he was on a yellow card, it was a lot of man to man on the side, so it was just about that. If not, he would continue with the game because he is so important for us. He has struggle for a few weeks [with his bereavement], but we are here for him and that's the most important thing."

LAMMENS KEY AGAIN
"He was really important. Sometimes it is a little bit of luck because they had two shots on the post. That can change the narrative, the way you see the team, the goalkeeper or whatever. So we have to understand that, but he showed a lot of character, a lot of quality and we win also because of Lammens."
WHY PLAYERS LOOKED TIRED AT END
"We are a team that controls the game with the ball. When you spend so much time without the ball, and that is not normal, we struggle a little bit. That is normal. Let's enjoy the win but focus on what we have to improve to win [against] Brighton."
BIGGEST WIN OF TENURE
"I think that was the biggest win in my time at Manchester United. It means a lot today but tomorrow it won't mean a lot. It's three points and it's a good victory."
