Amorim's colossal praise for Cunha

Ruben Amorim says he is already more than impressed with what Matheus Cunha is bringing to his Manchester United team.

Cunha, who arrived from Wolves and marked our first piece of summer business, has already begun rapidly integrating into Amorm's squad in the US.

Having featured against Bournemouth on Tour 2025, presented by Snapdragon, there is a chance the Brazilian could play against Everton in Atlanta this evening.

Ruben, who sat down with MUTV over the weekend, believes he is continuing to see all the right things from his group ahead of the new season.

"More than the results, it’s the way that we perform that helps to give confidence," began the boss when asked about morale in camp.

"Then I think the group is really good, I said last year we can do so much more with the same players.

"All the work that we did before buying Matheus and Bryan, all that work behind the scenes to know the players, to talk with people that played with the guys, was really important because they are everything that we were expecting.

"[They are] great guys and great players, so we are in a good place."

It's a positive aura that seems to be well echoed around United's pre-season endeavours, especially given our results on the pitch, too.

With just one game remaining before we return home to Old Trafford for our final off-season clash, against Fiorentina on August 9, positivity continues to be talk of the town.

And Cunha, who is expected to play a key role in Amorim's new-look side this season, is someone who has already impressed the boss no end.

"I cannot use the words in public!" echoed Ruben when asked about how he has previously praised United's no.10.

"He’s a loud guy that’s really important in this moment. When he’s upset, you can feel it in the environment and that’s good.

"When you play some games and he loses, he’s a different guy, and that’s good. He has some characteristics that we miss last season, so I’m really happy with him and the other guys."

With anticipation continuing to build, Amorim says he is sure that our new summer additions will bring a fresh dynamic to the side that will only excite fans back at home.

"Sometimes we have to look at the past, what was the reason for all the success," said the boss.

"Of course, the football changed, the world changed, but there are some things that we can get from that. I think that is the spirit of the players.

Ruben Amorim has confirmed when our new no.19 will first play for the Reds.

"When I'm going to Old Trafford and we show a good performance like we did against, for example, Real Sociedad, I feel the excitement of everybody.

"So I think they [the fans] deserve to have guys like Matheus and Bruno and all these guys that can lift that place and so we expect to do that."
