McTominay injury update

Scott McTominay should be available for Manchester United's weekend match against West Ham United, despite picking up an injury in Wednesday night's away victory over Brentford.

The 25-year-old put in an impressive second-half performance as United put Brentford to the sword. Affected by a back problem midway through the half, McTominay attempted to play on but was eventually forced off.

United held on for the win nevertheless, making it 300 victories on the road in the Premier League, a competition record.

After the match, Ralf Rangnick provided an update on McTominay's fitness.

Our victory at Brentford will live in the memory for more reasons than one, as the Reds set a new record.

"He got a knock on the back and couldn't breathe properly," Ralf explained.

"I spoke to him in the locker room [after] and he should be okay for Saturday.”

That news will be encouraging for all United fans. McTominay had just returned from a one-match suspension and showed his value to the side at the Brentford Community Stadium.

The Scotland international completed 90% of his passes, recovered possession on 11 occasions and won nine duels, as well as being involved in our second and third goals against the Bees.
