Lammens: The best of my career
Senne Lammens has admitted the atmosphere during our most recent Old Trafford outing was the best he has experienced in his career.
Manchester United secured three points against neighbours City with a 2-0 victory, although the winning margin could have been much bigger.
Lammens kept a clean sheet, his third since joining the club from Royal Antwerp, following shut-outs against Sunderland and Newcastle United.
After also playing his part in a brilliant 3-2 away win at Premier League leaders Arsenal, the focus is now on the visit of Fulham this Sunday.
Lammens: It's the best league for a reason
Reds keeper Senne Lammens believes he has now adapted to life in England...
The 14:00 GMT kick-off presents a fresh challenge, as United seek a third successive win under head coach Michael Carrick, and Lammens spoke exclusively to the official matchday programme to preview the clash.
"Yeah [the atmosphere was the best]," he told us. "I think it has to be one of the best, if not the best games I've been part of, just in every facet.
"Like defending, attacking, the amount of chances we created, not giving away any chances.
"I thought it was really something that Saturday, so we hope we can do it like almost every home game, to be honest."
It was the sort of experience that Lammens hoped for, when signing for the club, after hearing so much about how the ground would be rocking when celebrating United's successes.
"The things you heard, like from the years past in Manchester, you think that you hope you can experience those nights," he admitted.
"And I think that Saturday was one of them.
"So you try to, in the future, get as many of those nights as possible and then, hopefully, get some trophies."
Having come from the Belgian top flight, the 23-year-old is learning to deal with the bigger venues, and occasions, when adapting to the Premier League.
The recent trip to Leeds United provided more lessons for him, due to the rivalry between the clubs, but he has remained level headed and assured in his work, also dealing with the high-profile encounter at Arsenal last time out.
"It was quite hostile [at Leeds], to be honest," he said. "So it was also a special game, just too bad we couldn't come away with the three points.
"It was a really nice game to play in and good experience for me, as well, to get into those games.
"I think, if you can get your performance in and just stay the same way as you did, like playing at home, I think it's a good lesson to learn as a young goalkeeper. And, if you know you can do it, then you can do it almost everywhere.
"So, yeah, it's nice to know as well."
