Shola Shoretire has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for October.

The Manchester United youngster has been in excellent form for the Under-21s and this is just reward for his efforts of late.

Erik ten Hag included him in the matchday squad for the trip to Spain to face Real Sociedad, and he was on the substitutes' bench during the 1-0 victory, as fellow Academy product Alejandro Garnacho scored the only goal of the game.

Shoretire started October with a consolation strike in the 6-1 defeat at Blackburn Rovers in Premier League 2 and then provided all three assists in the 3-3 home draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 18-year-old sensationally scored in the 95th and 96th minutes away to Chelsea midway through the month, to earn a remarkable 3-3 draw with the Blues at the death.

There was more late drama in the Papa Johns Trophy tie against Fleetwood Town, when he crashed home another stoppage-time strike to make it 2-2.

Another goal was notched in the 3-2 triumph over Wolves, when he equalised 12 minutes from the end, before Marc Jurado's winner.
