Sir Alex: Youth is foundation of United
Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recognises the fundamental principles that the club is built on.
Ole has shown a willingness to invest his faith in youth with Anthony Elanga becoming the 14th Academy debutant during his time in charge, when starting Tuesday's Premier League clash with Leicester City.
It was a three-pronged teenage attack in the 2-1 reverse, with Mason Greenwood and Amad also in the XI.

In the disappointing 4-2 loss to Liverpool, four Academy graduates started - Dean Henderson, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford - with Greenwood coming off the bench. Of course, these sort of statistics have become the norm and Sir Alex wants to see the production of youth talents continue, something he always managed expertly and not just by integrating the fabled Class of 92 into his senior squad.
In advance of the release of his revealing new documentary 'Never Give In', our legendary ex-manager explained how he feels Solskjaer is on the right track to achieve success. Despite the two defeats this week, United can still clinch second spot by beating Fulham on Tuesday and will meet Villarreal in the Europa League final on 26 May.
"I think Ole was always very communicative," Sir Alex told the BBC. "Even when he was on the bench - and he spent a lot of time on the bench!
“He would take notes of training sessions and he had a will and way forward that he wanted to be a manager.
“For a club like Manchester United, it's a results industry. Without question. If you don't get results, questions are going to be asked. He is getting results and has really done very well and, which is really important for this club, is to introduce young people.
“He has given young players a chance. I think that will always be the foundation of Manchester United. From Matt Busby, from Alex Ferguson to what Ole is doing - the young guys, if they're good enough, play them. It's never a problem at this club."
