What's the latest on Amrabat?
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has spoken to MUTV about recent loan recruits Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon.
Amrabat arrived from Fiorentina at the end of the transfer window but, after not signing in time to face Arsenal, he was forced to withdraw from the Morocco squad due to a minor injury.
It means the midfielder is also out of our game with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday but Ten Hag expects the 27-year-old to be fit again soon, with big dates on the horizon domestically and abroad, including the UEFA Champions League campaign getting under way, starting at Bayern Munich next Wednesday.
In an exclusive interview with club media to be published in full at 07:00 BST on Saturday morning, the manager told Zarah Connolly that he is looking forward to having Amrabat, who played under him at FC Twente, available.
Left-back Reguilon, who is on loan from Tottenham, appears set to be in the squad again for the Brighton encounter after being named among the substitutes for the defeat at Arsenal in our last Premier League outing.
When asked if we will see the pair soon, Ten Hag replied: "I think so, yeah. We are a little bit short of defenders, so [Reguilon] can come quickly.
"Amrabat, he came back unfortunately with the injury, so he will not be available for tomorrow [Saturday], but I think, on the short notice [soon], yes. And I'm sure we will all get joy from them."
Earlier, Ten Hag suggested Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof would be in the matchday squad, while Raphael Varane and Mason Mount are making good progress but will not face the Seagulls.
When he does get to pull on the red shirt for the first time, Amrabat will become the first Morocco international to play for the club.
A minute's silence is to be held before kick-off this weekend as a mark of respect for those who sadly lost their lives following the earthquake in the north African nation and also those affected by the floods in Libya.
