Amrabat: I am a winner

New Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat says he shares similar characteristics with the club's manager Erik ten Hag.

The Morocco international has wrapped up his loan move from Fiorentina and been presented with the no.4 shirt, as he looks to make his mark at Old Trafford.

After graduating from the Utrecht Academy and making four Eredivisie appearances in 2014/15, he would eventually become a regular and was selected 50 times by Ten Hag, in all competitions, when the Dutchman took charge.

It was a show of faith that has never been forgotten from one of the stars of last year's World Cup finals.

🎬 SIGNING INTERVIEW | Sofyan Amrabat talks Erik ten Hag, Morocco and his footballing mentality in this exclusive Q&A...

"It was very important because I was very young," he told us, in his first interview since joining the club. "I was 18, 19 years old and he gave me the chance to play in the first team with Utrecht.

"We had a fantastic time, a really good season. I learned a lot from him.

"So maybe he's one of the most important people in my career for now."

The 27-year-old is desperate to show his willingness to fight for United's cause in the Premier League.

"It's fantastic because I think Erik ten Hag is a coach who will push always to the limit," he added. "He's hungry. He wants to win. He's a winner and I like that. I think I'm also similar, I'm also a winner. I want to win every day so it's a good match."

When we asked about his style of play, Amrabat preferred to let his feet do the talking when pulling on the red shirt.

"I don't like to speak about myself," he admitted. "I want to show it on the pitch, but I can promise that I will give my best with everything; every day, every minute, every second. So, it is the only thing that I can say now."
