Amrabat: Hopefully we can continue like this

Sofyan Amrabat hopes Manchester United's victory over Chelsea can provide a positive springboard for our performances moving forward.

A brace from Scott McTominay helped the Reds to victory over Mauricio Pochettino's side, with Erik ten Hag's side battling well across the 90 minutes in M16.

Sofyan partnered the Scotland international in midfield and was crucial to United's triumph, pressing well on only his 14th outing since joining on loan in the summer.

Admitting it has taken him a short while to adapt to the demands of English football, Sofyan believes he is now well-placed to kick on following his display against the Blues.

Sofyan Amrabat says he is adapting to United well, after his impressive performance against Chelsea...

"I'm happy because we won the game, but I am team player most importantly and I try to help the team," began Sofyan when speaking to MUTV.

"It is normal that my start was a bit difficult because I did not have the pre-season. First of all I don't like to give excuses, but I didn't get a pre-season so that is always difficult for every player I think, coming back from injury.

"Normally you need time to adapt but there was no time, the team needed me, so I had to jump in immediately. I am a fighter and I will play wherever the manager needs me."

The 27-year-old was also quick to praise McTominay's goalscoring as of late, insisting that perhaps Ten Hag may look to consider the midfielder further up field.

''Maybe he will have to change jobs and play as a striker,'' joked the Morocco international.

"We [obviously] have fantastic strikers like Rasmus [Hojlund], Antony, [Anthony] Martial.

"It is clear that Scott is very important as he scored two goals. What else do I have to say, he was fantastic!''

Back on home soil once more on Saturday, as we host Bournemouth, Sofyan added how the Old Trafford faithful can play their part in terms of providing an unrivalled atmosphere once more.

''[It was] fantastic," he added. "We have amazing fans and they are the best.

"They push us from the first minute to the last second and they help us with the way we want to play, with a lot of intensity, high pressing, a lot of intensity.

"That is the way at United and hopefully we can continue like this.''
