Manchester United may have two key defenders absent for Sunday's trip to Southampton in the Premier League.

Our 4-1 Champions League win against Istanbul Basaksehir at Old Trafford came at a price, as Victor Lindelof, who has been struggling with back issues recently, didn’t come out for the second half against the Turks and was replaced by Axel Tuanzebe.

Right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka lasted until the 58th minute of the win and then made way for Brandon Williams, as a precautionary measure, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed after the match.

“Hopefully they’ll be ready for the weekend but we’re not sure,” the Norwegian said.

“It’s back problems for Victor and he had an ankle problem, Aaron, so there was no point taking any more chances and risking more swelling to it.”

United already have Luke Shaw and Phil Jones out injured while Eric Bailly has not featured for the Reds since the beginning of October.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Teden Mengi were unused substitutes against Basaksehir, while Williams entered the fray for his first appearance since late September.
