Paul Pogba

Pogba cheers on Reds from home

Saturday 30 October 2021 19:15

Midfielder Paul Pogba was the only first-team squad member who was not available for Manchester United's game at Tottenham.

Our no.6 was sent off during last Sunday's 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, with the yellow originally shown for his foul on Naby Keita changed to red after a pitchside check by referee Anthony Taylor.

The dismissal resulted in a three-match ban, meaning Pogba was out of Saturday's trip to Tottenham, as well as upcoming matches with Manchester City and Watford.

Paul watches on from home.

But that didn't stop Paul from cheering his team-mates on.

The 28-year-old posted an image captioned 'Let's go boys' to his Instagram Story shortly after kick-off in north London, which showed him watching the match from the comfort of his own home.

Paul will no doubt have been eager to see a solid display from United, who made two changes to the side with Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani coming in for Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

The Reds shifted to three at the back accordingly, the first time we have started in that particular shape since December 2020.

'Finish. Wow!', says Paul.

And the alteration certainly paid off in a solid first half, capped by Cristiano Ronaldo's volley which put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side a goal up at the break.

Paul was impressed anyway - his response to the goal was eye-popping, as you can see in the video above...

United added further strikes in the second half, through Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford, to secure a thoroughly deserved 3-0 win on the road. Up the Reds!
