Team news for Brentford encounter

Friday 26 September 2025 14:30

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has provided a full update on his squad, ahead of Saturday's game at Brentford.

The lunchtime kick-off in the capital presents a chance to build on last weekend's 2-1 victory over Chelsea, and Diogo Dalot makes a welcome return after getting injured while on international duty with Portugal.

The defender has trained this week and is an option to play at right wing-back, particularly with Amad and Noussair Mazraoui ruled out.

Amad is dealing with a family bereavement, while Mazraoui has picked up a knock.

However, Ruben confirmed in his MUTV interview that Dalot is available again.

"Diogo is returning to the team," he told Mark Sullivan, before boarding the bus to leave the training ground. "And he is ready.

"We have all the other players so we are in a good moment to go to Brentford."

PRESS CONFERENCE | Ruben began by detailing the latest team news and some sad news for Amad...

"Amad is not here," said Amorim, during his pre-match press conference at Carrington.

"Someone in his family passed away so we are giving all the support to Amad. We understand the importance for him, at this time, to return home [here].

"Nous is not going to be [available] until we stop for the international teams. He is out also."

Casemiro is, of course, serving a one-match suspension, following his red card in the first half of the win against Chelsea.

The boss also confirmed Lisandro Martinez is obviously still out, as he continues his recovery from a knee operation.

Youngsters Jayden Ngwashi, 17, and Tyler Fletcher, 18, took part in the latest first-team training session, on Friday, in front of our cameras.

BRENTFORD'S TEAM NEWS

Bees boss Keith Andrews welcomed Mikkel Damsgaard back for the game at Fulham, and he scored in the 3-1 London derby defeat.

Ex-Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson looks certain to start but there have been doubts over Reiss Nelson, Paris Maghoma and Brazilian forward Gustavo Nunes.

Nelson has the best chance of being involved, as he has been training again after illness. Maghoma is due to return to the fold next week, while Nunes has been taking part in the sessions but is pencilled in for games for Brentford B to build up his fitness.
