Ten Hag provides team news update
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has provided an update on his plans for Thursday night's Premier League assignment at Leicester City.
The Reds are looking to build on victories over Liverpool and Southampton against the division's bottom side, who have just a single point on the board after a difficult start.
Much of the steel and resolve on show at St Mary's last weekend will, no doubt, be required again and Ten Hag may be able to call upon the services of defender Victor Lindelof once more.
The Sweden international is back in training but has only had one session after a few weeks on the sidelines, so will be assessed before the King Power Stadium encounter.
Unfortunately, striker Anthony Martial is still ruled out, while prospective signing Antony has yet to finalise his transfer from Ajax, and may have to target Sunday's clash with Arsenal for his potential debut.
"Victor Lindelof is training with the team, we will see today how far he is but just one session he was in," said the manager. "He was two-three weeks out. Martial is not available."
Casemiro will be in contention for his maiden start at his new club, after coming off the bench at Southampton.
LEICESTER'S TEAM NEWS
With Wesley Fofana poised to seal a move to Chelsea, the Foxes have had an unsettled start to the season.
James Maddison is a doubt with a hamstring problem but Brendan Rodgers is hopeful the in-form midfielder will start. Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand are ruled out but there are no fresh injury concerns for the home side.
"Erik is adapting to the country and the league, he will understand very quickly that the tempo and intensity will be different from where he's come from," commented Rodgers, in relation to the United boss.
"He'll need time to bring in the players he wants and time to put in place his philosophy. In the modern game that can be difficult but I'm sure he'll do very well."
