Ruben Amorim

Team news for Fulham away

Friday 22 August 2025 13:30

Ruben Amorim has provided a brief team news update, ahead of Manchester United's trip to Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds are looking to pick up our first win of the 2025/26 season, after an unlucky 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford in our season opener.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo made their full debuts in M16, while Benjamin Sesko also appeared for the first time in red, after replacing Mason Mount in the second half.

Amorim had a strong squad at his disposal for the Gunners' visit, with Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui the only confirmed injury absentees.

The pair are set to be missing again at Craven Cottage, while the boss was asked about the availability of Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international sat out of last Sunday's fixture, with Altay Bayindir continuing behind the sticks.

Andre has recovered from his pre-season injury and is available again, but Amorim did not confirm if he would bring our no.24 into the side.

"Onana is ready to play like last week, so we will see in the game who is going to be keeper," Ruben said.

"Licha is out, Nous is out. The rest of the guys are fit and ready to play."

FULHAM TEAM NEWS

Cottagers vice-captain Antonee Robinson missed the 1-1 draw at Brighton last Saturday, as he was still recovering from the minor knee surgery he underwent over the summer.

Robinson has been working with the team again at the club’s Motspur Park facility, and could be in contention to play on Sunday

Ryan Sessegnon, who is Robinson’s deputy at left-back, was the only other absentee at the Amex Stadium, after picking up a knock in the Londoners’ final pre-season friendly.

Calvin Bassey filled in on the left side of defence against the Seagulls, while Fulham’s only summer arrival – goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte – was an unused substitute.

“We are going to have another session [on Saturday], and we will take a decision on both Sessegnon and Robinson,” said Silva on Friday.

“We didn't want to take the risk with Sess last week. Calvin did so well [at Brighton] - [Isaac] Cuenca can play there too…”
