SEVEN DIFFERENT SCORERS

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial (twice), Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Daniel James all made it on to the scoresheet for the Reds. According to Opta, it was only the second time in the PL era that seven different players had contributed to a team's goals in one match, after Chelsea v Aston Villa in December 2012.

CLINICAL REDS

After that nine-goal surge, United are now top of the Premier League scoring charts, with 46 goals. Liverpool are next up, on 43.

EMULATING SIR ALEX

United scored four in the first half for the second time in the Premier League this season (after the 6-2 win v Leeds). It's the first time since the 1997/98 season we've done this twice in one campaign. Similarly, we have now hit 6+ at Old Trafford twice this term, matching the mark managed by the 2000/01 champions (v Bradford and Arsenal).

RED-HOT RASHFORD

Only Mohamed Salah (21) and Harry Kane (19) have scored more than Marcus's 16 in all competitions for a Premier League club this season. Furthermore, Rashford is now on 83 goals for United, meaning he has overtaken Eric Cantona (82) to move into our all-time list of top-25 goalscorers.

BRUNO'S BRILLIANCE CONTINUES

Fernandes scored once and assisted twice, to take his Premier League goal-involvement tally since signing for the Reds to 36 - the most of any top-flight player in that time frame. Only Cantona and ex-West Ham forward Dimitri Payet (both 33 games) have assisted 15 Premier League goals in fewer appearances than Fernandes, with Tuesday's his 36th appearance in the competition.

A RARE DOZEN

Tuesday's nine goals, added to the three we managed at St Mary's Stadium in November, mean we have scored 12 times against the Saints during 2020/21. This equals the landmark of most goals scored against one club by another in one Premier League season.

SUPERB SHAW

Luke Shaw only featured for 45 minutes, but registered two assists in a Premier League for the first time in his career. He also created five goalscoring opportunities against his former club, beating his personal record.

PASS, PASS, PASS

United set a Premier League record in 2020/21 for the most successful passes in the final third (266). Southampton managed just nine, which is a landmark low this season.
