Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes

This week at United: The Premier League returns!

Monday 16 November 2020 08:00

Manchester United are back in domestic action this week, after the international break concludes on Wednesday night.

The Reds are set to play West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday night, while our Women’s, Under-23s and Under-18s also have fixtures in the schedule. Here’s what else there is to look forward to…

MONDAY
It’s the one you’ve been waiting for… UTD Podcast featuring Bruno Fernandes will be released on all of your favourite platform providers from 17:00 GMT. Check out our preview piece for a clue as to what’s in store.

Reds legend Paul Scholes also celebrates his 46th birthday, while current Women’s goalkeeper Emily Ramsey turns 20.

TUESDAY
There are another couple of birthdays to mark – 2008 Champions League winner Nani turns 34, while young midfielder Dylan Levitt, currently on loan at Charlton, is 20.

As many as eight of our players could be in international action on Tuesday. The stand-out games are France v Sweden, which could see Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial attempt to get past team-mate Victor Lindelof, plus Uruguay v Brazil, where we’ll hopefully get an Edinson Cavani v Alex Telles battle in the South American World Cup qualifiers.

WEDNESDAY
United’s Under-21s Papa John’s Trophy group-stage campaign draws to a close as we face Morecambe at the Mazuma Stadium in a game which kicks off at 18:30 GMT. The Reds have already secured qualification for the next phase and will top the pool with a victory over the Shrimps, who have lost both games so far.

We have more birthday well-wishes, as the Great Dane Peter Schmeichel celebrates his 57th birthday.

In the evening, November’s international matches reach completion, with England, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales all playing important UEFA Nations League fixtures.

THURSDAY
Five days on from the last instalment, it’s time for another Manchester derby as United Women take on City in our second Continental Cup group fixture. The Reds lost to Liverpool in our opener, so need to take all three points here if we are to maintain hopes of progressing to the knockout stages.

FRIDAY
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hold his customary pre-match press conference at the Aon Training Complex to preview Saturday’s Premier League fixture against West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford. You can watch a live stream of the media briefing on ManUtd.com and in the Official App and we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest stories as Ole gives the lowdown on how his squad is looking after the international break.

SATURDAY
It’s a busy day at United, as the seniors get back in action with a home match against West Brom at 20:00 GMT. As usual, you can follow the action on all of our channels.

Earlier in the day, our Under-18s travel down to Clayton Wood to take on Stoke City in a Under-18s Premier League fixture. Neil Ryan’s side are in good form, having won five of six league fixtures so far in 2020/21 and you can watch the match live and in full on MUTV from 11:00 GMT.

SUNDAY
We see out a busy week with Under-23s action between Neil Wood’s United and Tottenham Hotspur at Leigh Sports Village. Again, the match will be broadcast on MUTV – tune in from 17:00 GMT to see if the Reds can build on back-to-back victories in Premier League 2.
