Manchester United

This week at Manchester United

Monday 16 August 2021 09:56

Riding high on the glorious wave of victory, Manchester United move into the second week of the new season with vigour and excitement.

Fans will be eager to watch the Reds again and it won't be too long before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are back in action, but there's plenty more happening at United this week as well...

Monday 16 August

Reaction to Saturday's thumping win over Leeds United will continue and there'll be more focus on the signing of Raphael Varane. You'll be able to hear from the man himself as he sits down with club media for his first interview as a Manchester United player. The Frenchman talks about his reception at Old Trafford, winning the World Cup, playing with Paul Pogba and much more. Look out for that on Monday.

Tuesday 17 August

It's the 25th anniversary of David Beckham's jaw-dropping halfway-line strike against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park. We'll look back at that momentous goal as well as shifting our focus towards our next Premier League game against Southampton.

In the evening, Ethan Galbraith could be in action for Doncaster Rovers, who he recently joined on loan. They play Accrington Stanley at 19:45 BST.

Wednesday 18 August

There's another chance to look at some of our loanees in action as Tahith Chong's Birmingham take on AFC Bournemouth and Di'Shon Bernard's Hull City play Derby County.

Thursday 19 August

United Women play their third game of pre-season, taking on Rangers for the first time in our history as part of a week-long training camp in Scotland. Taking the side north of the border is new head coach Marc Skinner who was pleased with his team's 2-0 win against Aston Villa at the weekend. It's a special day for United Women who celebrate the third-anniversary of the side's inaugural match against Liverpool and we'll wish a happy birthday to defender Martha Harris.

Friday 20 August

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will preview our trip to Southampton when he sits down with reporters for his pre-match press conference and he'll also speak exclusively to club media. You can follow it live on ManUtd.com, our Official App and on MUTV.

Our Under-23s have a fantastic opportunity to experience big-stadium football when they play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in our second game of Premier League 2. They drew 2-2 against Leicester City in the opening fixture.

Saturday 21 August

Our Under-18s will renew rivalries with Liverpool, as the Merseyside club sends their young team to Carrington for an 11:30 BST kick-off in the U18 Premier League.

Sunday 22 August

It's matchday again as our men's first team make the trip to Southampton in the Premier League for an encounter that gets started at 14:00 BST. You can watch all the pre-match build-up on MUTV while we will have coverage across ManUtd.com and the Official App throughout the day. Oh, and we will potentially have a full away end of travelling Reds for the first time since before the pandemic started!
