What's happening at Old Trafford this week?

Tuesday 05 October 2021 18:58

It might be an international break for our men's teams, but there is still plenty of action and events for Manchester United fans to get involved with this week at Old Trafford and beyond.

Let’s start with an exciting unveiling. This week, we are cutting metaphoric ribbons and throwing open the doors to a brand new exhibition celebrating 40 years since Bryan Robson signed for the club.

Bring the family along and find out how Captain Marvel gained that nickname, before heading out on a stadium tour to see the very spot where he signed on the pitch all those years ago. You can book online now

Don’t forget to visit the Megastore while you’re here and pick up a personalised shirt, or maybe a retro shirt if the exhibition has got you feeling nostalgic! You can also order online at United Direct.

The weekend is shaping up nicely, as Saturday 9 October has MU Women taking on Man City Women in the Women's Super League derby at Leigh Sports Village, with kick-off at 13:30 BST.

Tickets for this clash are still available to buy, with adult tickets priced at £6 and juniors/over 65s a very reasonable £3, and can be bought online.

Take the entire family and experience top-flight women’s football, in one of the fiercest rivalries around, and don’t forget to order your women’s team shirt from United Direct to show your support throughout the season.

Ona Batlle and her team-mates are ready to battle with Man City Women.

Later on Saturday, Old Trafford will be staging a different kind of sport when the biggest game in rugby league takes place at 18:00 BST.

The 2021 Betfred Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford will be played between Catalans Dragons and St Helens. But aside from the 80 minutes of action on the pitch there is plenty to see and do around the stadium on matchday.

There will be a Fan Zone located in the North West corner of the stadium, near to the Ticket Office, which will be open from 14:00 to 17:00 BST on matchday. Here you will find food, drink and activities along with all three trophies for next year’s Rugby League World Cup on display.

Alex Simmons will be hosting on the Fan Zone stage, getting everyone in the party mood with live music, giveaways and special guests onstage including Levi Roots and members of the Jamaica Rugby League Team.

Will PerryMark Flanagan and Jon Wilkin will be hosting a live Grand Final special 'Out of Your League' podcast from 16:00 to 17:00 BST featuring special guests and Super League personalities.

Once inside the stadium, there will be pre-match entertainment including a DJ set and then, as is traditional at the Grand Final, moments before the teams enter the pitch, soprano Laura Wright will rouse the crowd with a spine-tingling rendition of Jerusalem.

United fans can get 20 percent off tickets by using code MANU20, so head over to superleague.co.uk/tickets to get your tickets now.
