What’s happening at United this week?

This week is dominated by Tour 2022, with first-team fixtures – all available to watch on MUTV – and much more exclusive content to watch out for.

The Reds face two Premier League opponents in Australia, while some of the United Women will face each other in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Women’s Euro.

As we embark on an important seven days at United, here’s a breakdown of what lies ahead...

MONDAY

The week begins with build-up to Tuesday’s clash with Crystal Palace in Melbourne. Check out images and highlights of training, as Erik ten Hag’s side prepare for Palace at the AAMI Park Stadium.

TUESDAY

The Reds face fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday (19 July). The match is set to begin at 11:10 BST and, as usual, you can watch all of the action and the pre and post-match reaction LIVE on MUTV*. Coverage begins at 10:10 BST.

WEDNESDAY

On this day in 2021, Vilde Boe Risa signed for United Women, and there is even more United Women interest on Wednesday.

As many as four members of Marc Skinner’s side could feature in Wednesday’s Euro 2022 quarter-final between England and Spain.

Lionesses trio Mary Earps, Alessia Russo and Ella Toone come up against club team-mate Ona Batlle in a highly anticipated tie at the AMEX Stadium. Kick-off is at 20:00 BST, and this fixture is a must-watch.

The United women defender has reached the Euro 2022 quarter-final.

THURSDAY

On Thursday, United travel to Perth to prepare for the final fixture of the Australian leg of Tour 2022. Updates will be posted on our website and the United App.

Once they touch down in Perth, the Reds are back on the training pitch for an open training session. Supporters can attend and watch how Ten Hag’s side prepare for Saturday’s match against Aston Villa.

FRIDAY

Ten Hag will conduct his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa on Friday. The briefing is due to take place at 05:30 BST, and you can tune in LIVE on MUTV.

On this day in 2002, we signed club legend Rio Ferdinand. 

SATURDAY

The Reds face Aston Villa at the Optus Stadium on Saturday, in what is our final Australian match on Tour 2022. The game is set to begin at 10:45 BST and from 09:45 BST you can watch the build-up LIVE on MUTV*.

In addition to this fixture, United Women midfielder Jackie Groenen is in Euro 2022 quarter-final action for the Netherlands against France. Keep an eye out for updates on how she gets on.

There are a few key dates on Saturday too, as on this day in 2021 Jadon Sancho completed his move to the club from Borussia Dortmund. Both Hannah Blundell and Sophie Baggaley joined United Women on this day in 2021, too.

In 1993, meanwhile, Paul Scholes became a professional footballer for United. Eleven Premier Leagues and two Champions Leagues later, Scholes is one of the most decorated players in our history.
