What's happening at United this week?

Manchester United head into another busy week on the back of our dramatic victory over Southampton on Sunday, which saw us come from two goals behind on the south coast.

Buoyed by the three points, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attentions now turns to what is a very important week both in Europe and the league for United.

But, it’s not just Ole’s men who are in action over the seven-day period, and our Women’s side and youth teams also have matches, as well as several other events taking place at the club. We’ve summed it all up for you here…

MONDAY
We’re reacting to that emphatic win over Southampton on our website and Official App. Make sure to check out the highlights, behind-the-scenes coverage and reaction from Ole, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.

The latest episode of UTD Podcast will be released at 17:00 GMT, with the legendary Sammy McIlroy joining us. The Northern Irishman made 419 appearances for United and scored 71 times over a 13-year spell at the club. The 66-year-old opens up about his debut against Manchester City, the car crash that nearly ended his career and much more.

This day also sees the FA Cup third-round draw, which takes place shortly after 19:00 GMT, before the final second-round tie, which is live on BT Sport.

TUESDAY
Ole’s men will be in training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain and we’ll bring you a short video and gallery from the session at the Aon Training Complex.

Later that afternoon, Ole will be joined by a first-team player to conduct our pre-match press conference ahead of the game. The boss could give an update on the fitness of several key Reds, give an insight into our preparations and detail his thoughts on PSG. You can follow the boss’s media briefing across all our official avenue’s and social media.

After that, the visitors will have the chance to train on the Old Trafford pitch, before Ole’s opposite number Thomas Tuchel fields questions from the press via video link.
WEDNESDAY
It’s matchday at Old Trafford as United look to secure our passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League. As long as we avoid defeat in the 20:00 GMT kick-off, the Reds will be in the hat for the last 16. Last time we met, United secured a 2-1 win in Paris thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford. Elsewhere in the group, RB Leipzig travel to Turkey to take on Istanbul Basaksehir in a 17:55 GMT kick-off.

THURSDAY
Ole’s men will be back in training following our clash with PSG. As usual, we’ll be reflecting on all the major details from Wednesday’s game via our website and Official App, including highlights, interviews, post-match stats and more.

FRIDAY
The focus will shift back to the Premier League ahead of our weekend encounter with West Ham United. Ole will face his second press conference of the week on this day (time TBC). As with Tuesday’s briefing, the boss could an insight into which XI might start in our trip to the London Stadium.

Also on Friday, we’ll be wishing a very happy birthday to Dutch winger Tahith Chong who turns 21. The youngster is currently on loan at German outfit Werder Bremen where he has featured nine times in all competitions so far this season, with one goal to his name.

Later that day and our Under-23s kick off a busy weekend of matches when Neil Wood’s youngsters take on Southampton in the Premier League 2, at Leigh Sports Village. The match will be shown live on MUTV and kicks off at 19:00 GMT.

SATURDAY
A triple bill of United action gets underway with our Under-18s facing rivals Liverpool (11:30 GMT kick-off). A win for our young guns could see us increase the gap at the top of the table. The Reds are currently one point clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Speaking of league leaders, our women’s side are in action at 12:30 GMT, when we travel to the West Midlands to take on Aston Villa. We’ve met the Villans twice before and managed to net 17 times against them - let’s hope we can add to that tally at the weekend. The full 90 minutes of this game will be shown on MUTV from 14:30 GMT.

Finally it’s the turn of the men’s side, as Ole’s Reds go in search of a fourth straight league win when we visit West Ham. The Hammers are 11th in table after nine games, although they could improve that with victory over Aston Villa on Monday night. Last time at the London Stadium we suffered a 2-0 defeat, so United will out for revenge in the capital.

SUNDAY
This day marks the 28th anniversary of Eric Cantona’s United debut for the Reds, which came in a 2-1 victory over Manchester City. Of course, the charismatic Frenchmen spent a further five years at the club, racking up 182 appearances and scoring 82 goals in that period.
