What's happening this week at United?

Monday 15 May 2023 07:00

In what is set to be another frantic seven days at Manchester United, there is action penned for both our men and women's teams as the conclusion of the 2022/23 season edges ever closer.

Erik ten Hag's men will travel south to face Bournemouth on Saturday for our final away Premier League fixture of the season, while Marc Skinner's United Women will look to bounce back in the WSL following our narrow defeat in the Vitality Women's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

As well as those fixtures, we have many special events and anniversaries to commemorate, so scroll down to read our seven-day guide to everything happening at the club this week...

MONDAY

Highlights from United Women's historic first-ever FA Cup final, against Chelsea, will be available from midday.

Monday also marks 31 years since our 1992 FA Youth Cup success. That squad, of course, including the likes of Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.

We'll also wish former full-back Patrice Evra a happy 42nd birthday, with the Frenchman having spent eight years with the club from 2006-2014.

TUESDAY

An extract from our latest exclusive interview with Antony, which will be available to read in full via the latest Inside United edition, will be released on Tuesday.

Ten Hag's men will also be back on the pitch at Carrington, so stay tuned for our latest set of images and training highlights.

We were also crowned Premier League champions on this day in both 1999 and 2009, with the same day marking Casey Stoney's final game as United Women boss in 2021.

The latest episode of The Debate will be available to watch across our official platforms, with journalists and pundits discussing the key topics at the club from the weekend just gone, and the days ahead.

WEDNESDAY

The Reds also won the FA Cup final on this day back in 1990, against Crystal Palace, with a replay having to be played following a 3-3 draw five days earlier.

Alex Ferguson's side emerged victors 1-0 thanks to Lee Martin's second-half strike at Wembley Stadium, in front of over 80,000 jubilant supporters.

THURSDAY

We will continue to look ahead to Saturday's Premier League clash with the Cherries, with our match preview and early team news heading your way.

Sir Matt Busby retired back in 1969, as well as our famous midfielder Eric Cantona in 1997 too.

FRIDAY

We will honour Sir Alex on this day, with our iconic boss managing his last game for the Reds back in 2013. What a manager.

Ten Hag is due to speak to the media on Friday ahead of our clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, and you can stay right up to date with all the latest updates via ManUtd.com and our app.

You will be able to watch the press conference on our official platforms, while the key stories and highlights will be available to read following his media briefing.

SATURDAY

You will be able to watch and read Erik’s Matchday Q&A from 07:00 BST, ahead of our clash with the Cherries.

Attention will then quickly turn to the south coast, with the game, however, not available to watch live in the UK.

We will provide exclusive pre-match insight and post-match analysis via MUTV’s Match Day Live show, either side of live radio commentary during the 90 minutes. Our programme begins at 13:55 BST, with updates and stats also available in our Match Centre – accessible on ManUtd.com and in our app.

Highlights of the match will be available two hours after the full-time whistle. Extended versions will be published at midnight.

SUNDAY

United Women are back in action for the first time since our Women's FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.

Set to take on Manchester City at Leigh Sports Village in our penultimate WSL encounter of the season, United will hope to emerge victorious and keep our title hopes alive heading into the final game of the campaign.

The game, scheduled for 18:45 BST, is set to be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK. We will also keep you right up to date with all the action in the United App across the evening.
