Three weeks to United Women at Old Trafford

Saturday 04 March 2023 11:00

In three weeks’ time, on Saturday 25 March, Manchester United Women will face West Ham at Old Trafford.

The WSL fixture, which kicks off at 17:30 GMT, will be the third time our women’s side will play at the Theatre of Dreams in front of fans, following the 2022 triumphs over Everton and Aston Villa.

The latter of these two Old Trafford matches attracted a crowd of 30,196 supporters - United Women's record home crowd to date - and tickets are still available for their next match at the iconic stadium.

Katie Zelem, captain of our women's side, spoke this week about her ambitions of breaking that record again on 25 March, and you could be a part of that. Get your tickets now!

Marc Skinner’s team have played at Old Trafford on three occasions already, with the first of these being a behind-closed-doors match against West Ham, due to the Covid pandemic.

That match ended 2-1 to the Reds, and United will no doubt be eager to earn a similarly positive result on 25 March.

The other two fixtures at the stadium have featured supporters, with more than 20,000 turning out to see the Reds beat Everton 3-1 in March last year.

United Women's last Old Trafford match, against Aston Villa in December 2022, attracted more than 30,000 fans as Skinner’s side demolished the Villans 5-0.

And the upcoming clash with the Hammers is certainly set to be a blockbuster.

After playing 13 matches, United sit at the top of the WSL table. But before the Old Trafford match, we must face Leicester and Chelsea in the league, and Lewes in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

United have been in great form this season, and will be no doubt striving to continue that coming into the clash with West Ham, and beyond.

To ensure you don’t miss out on the opportunity to see the in-form Reds live, and also witness the likes of Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Mary Earps – who was recently named FIFA’s Best Women’s Goalkeeper – take to the Old Trafford pitch, order your ticket now!
