Training update from Carrington

Manchester United's players have worked in front of the cameras at Carrington, ahead of our next UEFA Champions League assignment.

Erik ten Hag's squad is flying to Denmark this afternoon (Tuesday) for our Group A clash against FC Copenhagen, keen to get another three points on the board with Galatasaray away to Bayern Munich being the other fixture in our section this week.

The Reds won 1-0 against the Danish champions last time out in the competition, with Harry Maguire scoring the only goal at Old Trafford and Andre Onana saving Jordan Larsson's penalty at the death.

The good news is both Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford were part of the main group of outfield players. The Sweden international was ill and missed the dramatic 1-0 victory at Fulham, with Maguire and Jonny Evans forming the central defensive partnership.

Rashford, last season's leading goalscorer, failed a late fitness test after picking up an injury, and watched from the sidelines as skipper Bruno Fernandes fired home the late winner.

Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund took part in the session, as he looks forward to another reunion with his former club, as did Facundo Pellistri, who made a positive impression off the bench at Craven Cottage.

Casemiro, who was suspended for the first game against Copenhagen, was absent from the training session, due to the fact he has now joined Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw in the treatment room.

Kobbie Mainoo was also not among the players training in front of the cameras. However, the young midfielder is fit and it remains to be seen whether he'll be involved in the senior or Youth League action in Copenhagen.

While the goalkeepers worked separately, our outfield players began the training session by dividing into two rondo drills in front of the cameras. Steve McClaren took charge of a group comprising Sofyan Amrabat, Maguire, Scott McTominay, Rashford, Evans, Hojlund, Mason Mount, Hannibal, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Omari Forson.

Meanwhile, the neighbouring game, supervised by Benni McCarthy, featured Antony, Diogo Dalot, Alejandro Garnacho, Lindelof, Donny van de Beek, Sergio Reguilon, Facundo Pellistri, Fernandes, Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial.

The Reds go into Wednesday's match in third place in the group, one point behind Galatasaray, with the top two qualifying for the knockout stages. Our travelling squad, which could differ from the players listed above, will be announced on ManUtd.com and the United App later this afternoon.
