Two United men nominated for Golden Boy award
Manchester United have two representatives on the latest list of candidates for the 2019 Golden Boy award, which is handed out to the player who is judged by journalists to be the best aged under 21 across Europe.
Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot is on the initial list of 80 names for the second successive year, having ultimately made the cut for the final 20 players in 2018.
The full-back was included largely for his efforts at Porto last time around but he has settled well in Manchester and made his mark at Old Trafford to earn another Golden Boy inclusion.
Netherlands Under-21 international Tahith Chong is the other Red to be nominated after making his senior debut in the Emirates FA Cup win over Reading in January.
The winger performed well in Wednesday's 4-0 victory over Leeds United on Tour 2019 and hopes he will continue to impress manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Anthony Martial won the trophy in 2015 for his efforts at United and Monaco, while Paul Pogba (2013) and Wayne Rooney (2004) are also previous winners. Pogba was with Juventus when he topped the poll, while Rooney was the second-ever winner, in his first season as a Red, following Rafael van der Vaart's inaugural victory in 2003.
Matthijs de Ligt, who has moved from Ajax to Juventus this week, is the current holder of the award after becoming the first defender to scoop the prize.
A number of top newspapers from across Europe compile the shortlist and vote for the player they believe to be the most impressive over the course of a calendar year.
