Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez will be suspended for Wednesday evening's clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Manchester United pair were shown their fifth yellow cards in the Premier League this season, during Sunday's thumping 4-0 victory over Everton.

As per league rules, both players will now serve a one-match suspension and sit out the 20:15 GMT kick-off in the live Amazon Prime fixture.

They will be available again for Nottingham Forest's visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Mainoo, who has just returned to the United side after two months out with injury, was cautioned after fouling Dwight McNeil early in the second half, on the edge of the area.

Moments later, Martinez also found his name added to the notepad of referee John Brooks, having pulled Beto back as the big striker advanced on goal.

Head coach Ruben Amorim has been rotating his squad since taking charge, and will have been encouraged by Harry Maguire returning to action as a substitute in the win over the Toffees.

Luke Shaw also gained more minutes off the bench, while Manuel Ugarte's energy could prove useful in north London after he was only introduced for the final 24 minutes.

Amorim said after the game: "I don't speak to with the players [afterwards]. I let them rest. I also have to think about the next game. I'm already thinking about Arsenal and trying to put my players in the better place to win football matches.

"We are changing so much in the middle of the season, without training. It's so much harder so it's a new experience. But you saw, in these two games, everybody is playing and everybody wants this. So that is the most important thing."
