Two more Reds return to pre-season training

Manchester United welcomed a couple more players back to pre-season training at Carrington on Friday.

Jesse Lingard enjoyed a brilliant loan spell at West Ham United in the second half of last term and was unlucky to narrowly miss out on England's Euro 2020 squad.

The midfielder has returned to his boyhood club and will be looking to display the form that won him the Premier League Player of the Month award for April.

Hannibal joined the group on Friday after his international exploits.

Hannibal also enjoyed his first day back in familiar territory after his 2020/21 campaign was extended by a first international call-up with Tunisia.

The teenager followed up his Premier League debut at Wolves on the final day by making three appearances for the African nation, as he strives to push for more senior football next term.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be pleased to potentially have more options available for the pre-season friendlies, which begin on Sunday, against Derby County at Pride Park (13:00 BST kick-off). The game is being shown live on MUTV.

There have been a number of youngsters working with the senior group since things got under way again at Carrington but there is still the prospect of an experienced line-up being fielded against the Rams.

United then head to a training camp with further friendlies to follow against QPR, Brentford, Preston North End and Everton.

All of these fixtures are being shown live by MUTV.
