Malacia: We have work to do

Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia says he is looking forward to the Reds' run-in, after we defeated Aston Villa 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Following our triumph at Old Trafford, which was sealed with a first-half strike from Bruno Fernandes, the Reds will now turn our attention Thursday's trip to the AMEX Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Seagulls are also in a quest for European football, currently sitting in eighth place in the Premier League table and on track for their highest-ever top-flight finish.

Roberto De Zerbi's side lost on penalties to United in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final on Sunday 23 April, but defeated the Reds 2-1 at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season.

Malacia: We have a lot of quality

Tyrell Malacia acknowledges the depth of United's squad, after our important 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday...

In his post-match interview after Sunday's win over Villa, Malacia looked ahead to our clash with the Seagulls, outlining the need to continue putting in maximum effort between now and the end of the campaign.

"There's always work to be done," he said to MUTV. "The manager's always demanding things from us, so that's important. But I think we have to watch our game and make sure we play for the Champions League.

"We have a lot of quality, so the quality is always there, so that's good. And I think we need that, as a club, as Manchester United, we always need quality."

Erik ten Hag’s side have played 55 matches this season so far, with seven more scheduled for the Reds between now and the end of the campaign.

Malacia has been an important member of our squad throughout, and he says playing so many games was one of the reasons why he made the switch to Manchester from Feyenoord last summer.

"I like it," he said of the busy schedule. "That's why I wanted to play in this competition [the Premier League] and for a big club. That's what you want to do. Play as many games as possible. So, I'm happy to be here."
