Manchester United's Under-23s take on Derby County in a Premier League 2 Division 1 fixture on Monday night.

The Reds make the journey to Loughborough University Stadium to face the Rams in what will be the first of two meetings between the sides in a week, as the season comes to a conclusion.

United sit in seventh spot in the league, two points adrift of Monday’s hosts, meaning Neil Wood’s team can leapfrog Derby in the table with a win.

United will be hoping to build on the excellent 4-2 win over second-placed Chelsea in our previous Premier League 2 fixture. Shola Shoretire’s brace and strikes from Amad and Mark Helm secured three points against the Blues. That win came after three consecutive defeats to Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and West Ham.

Derby also won last time out, bouncing back from losing to Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion by overcoming Blackburn Rovers 2-0.

Monday evening’s clash will be the Under-23s' first meeting with Derby since a 1-1 draw in 2018. Before that, United beat the Rams in a 3-2 thriller back in September 2016 - with Scott McTominay on the scoresheet - and lost twice in 2017.

Now the Reds have two chances to beat the East Midlanders in the space of seven days, as we target the highest possible league finish in Premier League 2.

Our game is the last of the penultimate matchday of the Premier League 2 season. Here are the results so far…

Chelsea 1 Blackburn 0
Manchester City 4 Tottenham 1
Arsenal 1 West Ham 2
Southampton 0 Everton 5
