More fixture changes for United youngsters
Manchester United's Under-23s have a fresh schedule following a number of alterations to the current fixture list.
The Reds have a Papa John's Trophy tie at Sunderland next Wednesday (13 October, 19:00 BST), which has had a knock-on effect to the home game against Blackburn Rovers on Friday. This will now take place at Leigh Sports Village at 12:00 BST on Saturday 16 October.
Meanwhile, the Black Cats beat Lincoln City 2-1 in our group on Tuesday, in a first match for the holders. The Imps are still top with six points but have finished their programme.
The UEFA Youth League tie with Atalanta is also being staged at Leigh and will now kick off at 13:00 BST on Wednesday 20 October, ahead of the first-team match at Old Trafford later that evening. The Under-19s will be keen to bounce back from the disappointing loss to Villarreal last time out in the competition.
Next month, the home matches with Leeds United (6 November) and Crystal Palace (27 November) are now taking place on Saturday with midday starts after previously being scheduled for Friday night.
Three Premier League 2 fixtures have been arranged for Old Trafford, which should provide excellent experience for the young players.
These are West Ham United on Friday 4 February (19:00 GMT), subject to the Emirates FA Cup draw, Everton on Friday 18 February (19:00 GMT) and Arsenal on Friday 22 April (19:00 GMT).
Please note that away games with Derby County (22 November) and Blackburn Rovers (6 December) are also set to be moved.
