Under-23s' Chelsea challenge live on MUTV

Thursday 17 December 2020 16:01

Manchester United Under-23s go up against Premier League 2 leaders Chelsea in another live MUTV game, at 12:00 GMT on Friday.

Neil Wood's side are also in good form but the Blues came from behind to beat Tottenham last time out, to take top spot in the division.

In goal that night was Petr Cech, the veteran keeper who, of course, played against United in the 2008 Champions League final in Moscow.

Petr Cech played in Chelsea's last Under-23s match - against Spurs.

At 38, the Czech Republic legend could be getting another run-out in a final league clash of 2020 for the two sides. If that is the case, one youngster hoping to stick one past Cech is Facundo Pellistri, the Reds' deadline-day signing from Penarol.

With three goals in his last three outings, the Uruguayan is showing why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained earlier this week how much faith he has in the South American's potential.

"We've been preparing for this match and we are ready for being there in London and playing such a good team that is Chelsea," he told us, as part of a wider interview.

“I'm really looking forward to playing against him [Cech], as he is such a legend in football. I'm really hoping to be on the pitch against him and shooting against him!"

We asked Pellistri what his team-mates call him, now he is fully adapted to life at the Aon Training Complex, as every footballer needs a nickname!

"They call me Pelli," he told us. "I have been asked about what I like to be called. Some players call me Facu but others Pelli and, most of the time, it's Pelli!"
