Free entry for Under-23s' clash with Canaries

Thursday 26 September 2019 14:25

Manchester United's Under-23s entertain Norwich City on Friday night, live on MUTV, with free entry for all spectators at Leigh Sports Village.

The 19:00 BST kick-off is the second fixture of the week for Neil Wood's side, following Monday's 4-1 away defeat to Aston Villa.

The Reds, who could have gone top of the Premier League 2 Division 2 table with a victory, fielded a very youthful team at the Banks's Stadium due to injuries, suspension and the fact a number of key individuals were involved for the first team in the Carabao Cup victory over Rochdale.

Supporters attending the game can win boots signed by Jesse Lingard.

The first defeat of the campaign came for a team without the likes of Brandon Williams, James Garner, Dylan Levitt and D'Mani Mellor, plus, of course, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong who have regularly been part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's senior group.

Seven of those involved on Monday are part of Neil Ryan's Under-18s squad, plus unused substitute Charlie Wellens.

Williams, who came off the bench to good effect against Rochdale, is also available again after his recent red card in the win over Fulham because that ban was served on Monday.

Not only can fans attend the game for free, but there is a chance to enter a competition to win a pair of boots signed by Jesse Lingard.

All spectators obtain a raffle ticket when they enter the stadium and, following a half-time draw and announcement, Fred the Red will present the lucky winner with the prize.

MUTV's live coverage of the match starts at 18:30 BST.
