Reds earn call-ups in younger age-groups
Manchester United have a number of representatives in the under-age groups, as part of the latest international call-ups.
First-team defenders Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro have been selected by their respective countries, as domestic football takes a break for the remainder of March.
Heaven, as previously reported, is with Neil Ryan's England Under-20s for a game in Rome against Italy, while fellow centre-back Yoro is on duty for France Under-21s again, as they face Luxembourg and Iceland.
There are some maiden promotions for United youngsters, as well, which deserve recognition.
Tyler Fletcher, who has been named on the bench for the past six Premier League matches under Michael Carrick, is in the Scotland Under-21s squad ahead of European qualifiers against Czech Republic and Portugal.
The team's coach, Scot Gemmill told the Edinburgh Evening News: "I think it [his place in the matchday squad at United] is a really good measure of how well he is doing to, obviously, be progressing at such a big club where the competition for places is so great.
"That really is a measure of the confidence we can have in him right now. I think he’s put himself in a really good position and it’s great to be able to recognise his progress and include him in the squad."
Three members of our FA Youth Cup-chasing side have enjoyed breakthrough invitations as well.
Noah Ajayi has been selected for Germany Under-18s, with the Hamburg-born winger rewarded for his fine form. Team-mates Gabriel and Jacob Watson have been named in the England Under-17s squad for the first time, with the latter promoted from being on standby, to replace Manchester City's Marlow Barrett.
At Under-21s level, Gabriele Biancheri is with Wales, while Jacob Devaney and Jack Moorhouse are part of Republic of Ireland's squad. Biancheri is loan at Rotherham United, while Devaney is impressing in Scotland with St Mirren.
James Overy has received a call-up for Australia Under-20s, while keeper Will Murdock is set for more recognition with Northern Ireland Under-19s.
Defender Godwill Kukonki is with England Under-18s and Louie Bradbury has joined up with Wales at that level.
Best of luck to all our youngsters during the break!
