Is Hojlund set to shine once again? Fans are confident

The Denmark international is our top scorer for the season so far with 10 goals to his name, and five of those have come in his last six outings across all competitions. 

Most recently, Hojlund scored via an excellent right-footed finish in the resounding win over West Ham United at Old Trafford, and it’s fair to say he is feeling confident. 

Will he continue his good form in this weekend's important Premier League game at Villa Park? The numbers from our popular United Predictions game show supporters are backing him to shine.

At the time of writing, 55 per cent of players have picked Rasmus to score first, followed by Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes. Casemiro is the surprise fifth choice, following his recent return to the team from injury. 

Our no.11 is also the second most popular choice in the Man of the Match category, with 23 per cent picking him to win the fan-voted award. Club captain Fernandes is the very slight favourite, but only with one per cent more of the share.

In his press conference to preview the big game, Erik explained he was always confident his fledgling front line would start to score consistently. 

“You mentioned Rasmus and Alejandro, they need time but also they need a team. So those two facts were not there in the first part of the season.

“We had to make a lot of adjustments in the way we play [due to injuries], so it was difficult to serve the offensive part of the team.

“When that happens [they get service], then it can go really quickly that players are going to develop and progress and that is what we have seen.

“But yeah, I was, from the start, confident that they have the potential to do this, what they are doing. Now it is about keep moving, keep going, be hungry.”
