ENGLAND

Four of our Reds are in the England squad for their two friendlies this month, the first of which was a momentous occasion at Wembley Stadium on Friday evening.

Sarina Wiegman's side welcomed reigning World Cup winners, the United States, to London and ran out 2-1 winners, with all three goals coming in an explosive first half.

Mary Earps was named in the starting XI and played a full 90, while Ella Toone was a second-half substitute to help the Lionesses see out the game.

Both Katie Zelem and Nikita Parris were named on the bench, but did not feature on this occasion.

FRANCE

One of our summer recruits, Aissatou Tounkara, played a full 90 minutes for France as they faced Germany in a friendly on Friday evening. A brace from Alexandra Popp - a goal either side of half-time - would be the undoing of the French, despite a late consolation goal from the spot.

SCOTLAND

United's no.9, Martha Thomas, featured in Scotland's make-or-break tie against a tough Austrian side in a bid to book their place in a World Cup play-off final. Thomas was subbed off late into the second 45 of the 1-0 win at Hampden Park, for eventual game winner Abi Harrison, who netted the crucial goal early in extra-time.

Meanwhile Kirsty Hanson, who is currently out on loan, was an unused substitute.

The duo could be involved when the Scots face the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday, with the potential to book a place at the 2023 World Cup in that match.

WALES

In keeping with the World Cup theme, our Welsh Reds were tasked with beating Bosnia and Herzegovina to book their place in a play-off final of their own. An extra-time winner was also needed to get the job done for Cymru in the 1-0 victory, as United's Hayley Ladd featured in backline and helped her nation keep a clean sheet.

Carrie Jones was also named in the XI and replaced with 10 minutes of the 90 to go. Young Reds Safia Middleton-Patel and Chloe Williams did not feature at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Wales will now play away to Switzerland on Tuesday with qualification for next summer's tournament on the line.

A rock at the back: Hayley Ladd helped Wales keep a clean sheet.
CANADA

Adriana Leon joined up with her Canadian team-mates this week and began international duty with a friendly against Argentina on Thursday. A hard-fought tie, in which Leon started, ended in a 2-0 win for her side; both goals came late into the second half after Argentina were reduced to 10 players following a red card.

NORWAY

Reds midfielder Vilde Boe Risa received a late call-up to the Norway squad this week. Although she was not available for their 4-1 loss to Brazil on Friday, she is set to be involved in the squad for Tuesday's game against the Netherlands.
