Defensive options boosted as Lindelof trains

Wednesday 22 January 2025 11:56

Victor Lindelof has returned to Manchester United training, providing a boost to Ruben Amorin’s defensive options ahead of the Europa League match against Rangers and other key fixtures.

The Swede has been limited to just nine Reds appearances so far this season, with the last of those coming in the Carabao Cup at Tottenham Hotspur on 19 December.

Lindelof was forced off in the first half of that end-to-end affair in north London and he was visibly frustrated, so it is great to see the no.2 back on the grass at Carrington, seemingly on the brink of a return.

Victor’s participation in Wednesday’s session, which was open to the media for 15 minutes, suggests the centre-back could be close to returning from injury.

Could we see the experienced centre-back against Rangers on Thursday night?

Ruben may provide an update on his fitness during this afternoon’s press conference, alongside Harry Maguire, which MUTV subscribers can watch live from 13:15 GMT.
