What Vidic expects from our summer signings
Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic is confident that Erik ten Hag’s three summer signings will propel the team to the next level.
Our former club captain was impressed by the manager’s first season in charge and the team spirit that he cultivated among the group.
Indeed, Vida believes that togetherness was fundamental to the Carabao Cup success and third-placed finish in the Premier League.
As Ten Hag often says, ‘good is not good enough’ and the boss has strengthened the squad by signing midfielder Mason Mount, goalkeeper Andre Onana and striker Rasmus Hojlund.
United icon Vidic is excited to see how the trio can help the club this campaign, as he explained during our exclusive interview at an Academy event in Hong Kong.

“I think the manager likes to play from the behind and Onana is known as the keeper that is good with the feet, so that is, first of all, what he's going to bring,” Nemanja told us.
“And he was in Inter, he has the experience of playing in a big team, and before [that] he was in Ajax, so all those teams have a winning mentality and they are challenging for the trophies. He's ready to be part of the squad.
“And he’s ready to compete on a big level.
Vidic is sure that Mount will “provide quality up front” as a proven Premier League player, but he is particularly intrigued by the arrival of Hojlund as a youngster he has heard so much about.

“As well, we have a boy who came from Atalanta,” continued Nema.
“I heard a lot of good things about him, because I played in Italy and I have a lot of friends there. He's very fast, he's very young and he has a good mentality, so he still has room to develop.
“And I'm very excited this season, obviously, with the signings, but as well, I believe that we have some players last season who improved under Erik ten Hag and, hopefully, they will keep improving and give us that opportunity to watch Man United in the last stages of the competitions.”
