Vote for August's monthly awards
Three players are vying for your support, with the vote for Manchester United's August Player of the Month award now open.
Erik ten Hag's side played three time across the month, beginning with a narrow penalty-shootout defeat against Manchester City in the Community Shield.
Just six days later, we started our Premier League endeavours for the 2024/25 campaign and emerged victorious 1-0 in front of a rapturous Old Trafford crowd against Fulham.
Our final outing of the month was a trip to the south coast, with the Reds beaten 2-1 by Brighton and Hove Albion, as Joao Pedro's injury-time strike proved pivotal.
Three standout performers from the above fixtures have particularly impressed and below is a quick summary of their contributions...
90 in 20: United v Fulham
90 in 20 | The Premier League is back! Watch the extended cut from our opening fixture of 2024/25...
AMAD
3 appearances / 1 goal
Our no.16 has started all three games so far this term and was a livewire throughout each of our August fixtures. Amad teed up Mason Mount for what should have been a certain goal in the first half at Wembley, before also causing Rico Lewis a headache throughout his 59-minute cameo on the pitch.
His performance against Fulham also showed plenty of promise, with United unlucky not to have scored earlier in the game, given Casemiro's header from his corner should have perhaps found the net. Most, however, will credit his goal against Brighton as his standout moment, when he smashed home via a deflection to restore parity at the Amex Stadium.
ALEJANDRO GARNACHO
3 appearances / 1 goal / 1 assist
Garnacho has had to wait patiently for his chance so far this season but he finished with aplomb to open the scoring in the Community Shield. His driving run and finish typified exactly what we've come to expect from the 20-year-old in wide areas.
Fast forward to our Premier League opener against the Cottagers and, from the bench again, Garnacho proved his weight in gold by setting up Joshua Zirkzee with a deft cross to win the game for Ten Hag's men.
One goal and one assist without a start to his name this campaign so far is quite the return for the Argentinian, and he was unlucky to have seen his effort at Brighton ruled out, due to Zirkzee's unfortunate intervention from an offside position.
Zirkzee opens his account
After Joshua Zirkzee opened his Netherlands account on Saturday, watch his first United strike...
NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI
2 appearances / 1 assist
It's been a whirlwind few weeks for our summer addition from Bayern Munich, but Mazraoui has slotted into our backline like a glove. Starting at right-back during both of our Premier League games so far, his performance against Fulham was one of confidence and style as he thwarted the Cottagers time and time again with multiple interceptions and tackles.
Nous then played the full 90 minutes against Brighton and kept Kaoru Mitoma to a minimum output throughout, while also setting up Amad for his first United assist with an eye-of-the-needle pass through the defence.
WHILE YOU'RE HERE...
